artist statement

Through layered color, texture, and intuitive mark-making in acrylic, watercolor, and ink, I construct spaces shaped by memory, sensation, and lived experience.

These paintings do not seek to describe a place, but to evoke it—forming inner terrains where reality softens into dream, and landscape becomes a quiet act of speculation.

A creative collaboration between the fabulous mother-daughter duo, featuring poetry by Zeni Bollok.

Love is the first thing of the day. Something heavy and sticky smells like honey and gasoline, a pool of ink, missing the lighter.

Love is nails on a blackboard screeching for your attention sit up straight and running line through your math equations. 1+1 is bigger than the ocean.

Love is the color of green jeans and jellyfish.

Love is that Wikipedia article that never seems to get your name right, highlighted in blue.

Love is the waves reaching up to your ankles and pulling you in. I hope you know how to swim. Feel the sand, swallow the salt burn your throat.

Love is endless questions pouring out of your mouth that never makes sense. Did you eat breakfast last month? What's your mother's star sign? Are you up?

Love is 2 AM catching a mouse in the hallway, cupping it with my hands, throwing it out the door. Love is the cat racing after it.

Love is 15 minutes late on a tight schedule. Love and run after a bus that will never stop, a compass that only shows the way up.

Love is never more than two feet away. The almost hello, say your name, kiss me where the X marks the spot.

Love is a map of treasures.

Love is not having to be in love but please find me anyway and if you do then love asks if we should go? Yes, let's go. Love does not move.

Love is the first word of the day, the last line of a poem.
